ZMorph’s latest addition to its 3D printer line up is the VX Multitool 3D Printer. With three fabrication methods and countless available materials, the ZMorph VX promises to be the most versatile yet practical 3D printer in the market.


Aside from being a multi-material printer, the VX incorporates other features which makes it stand above the rest. Notable features include selective two-material 3D printing, color blending, image mapping, and state-of-the-art printing with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) water soluble support.

ZMorph is known for manufacturing easy-to-use 3D printers, and VX is no exception. For convenience, this new model has a user-friendly touchscreen panel which gives users access to the printer’s wide range of control settings. Thus, switching from a 3D printer, to a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) router, to a laser engraver is possible with just a touch of a button.


Another notable feature of the VX 3D printer is its Voxelizer software. Voxelizer helps simplify the seemingly complicated processes involved in running the printer since it can control all three functions on its own. Additionally, the software’s advanced multi-material algorithms and smart support structures makes it possible for the VX to produce stunning prints.

Notable features of the Voxelizer software include creating workflows for 3D printing, CNC, and laser engraving, adding 3D filters, image mapping, advanced preset control, and Boolean operations. Aside from 3D mesh files, it also supports image files, certain medical files, and vector data.

ZMorph VX is also compatible with other 3D printing software like Simpllify3D, Cura, and Slic3r.

Durability and Accuracy

Those who are keen on investing in a 3D printer must consider the durability of the product. With dimensions at 530 x 555 x 480mm and weighing 20 kg, the ZMorph VX takes pride in being built like a tank.

The VX is made of aluminum and steel frames, which is protected by a 3-mm polyethylene terephthalate (PET) cover. It has sliding rails running on the X and Y axis which is made from top quality structural steel. The printer also contains a rigid aluminum X carriage, non-slip trapezoidal polyoxymethylene (POM) nuts, and a heated worktable. It also has a mechanical positioning precision of 14 microns for the X and Y axes, and 0.6 microns for the Z axis. These specifications guarantee that the VX is not only capable of high speed printing, but is also capable of withstanding mass production of projects.

Nonetheless, speed is nothing if the results are inaccurate. To reduce the possibility of producing rejected prints, ZMorph has designed the VX with a Closed Loop System which improves the overall manufacturing process. This system works by detecting any offset layer and corrects the issue before the final output is printed out. And since this error correction loop occurs during the manufacturing stage, successful prints are almost always guaranteed. Thus, the VX helps save both time and money.

Additionally, the ZMorph VX also has interchangeable nozzles sizes of 0.2 mm, 0.3 mm, and 0.4 mm. Toolheads and worktables, for the printer’s different functions, are also interchangeable.

Material Compatibility

The ZMorph VX takes pride in being able to work with an array of fabrication materials.

For 3D printing, recommended materials include nylon, thermochrome, ABS and its derivatives, PLA and its derivatives, PET, PVA, ASA, HIPS, TPU, and flex materials. In the case of CNC cutting and engraving, the printer can work with all kinds of wood, polycarbonate, HDPE, acrylic glass, machining wax, modeling board, POM, PVC foam, copper laminates, and Dibond-like composites.

For its laser engraving function, the VX can work with all kinds of wood, leather, and copper laminate. For laser cutting, it can work on paper, cardboard, felt, and thin gasket materials.
